Blach loves a great cup of coffee. That’s why in 2002
the idea of starting a coffee company in Napa Valley had great appeal.
With zero experience with coffee roasting,
Matt went on a quest for knowledge. This led to uncovering some eye-opening
facts concerning
how many coffees are produced. The picture wasn’t pretty. Harmful
chemicals, questionable growing practices and dubious business plans
left a bad taste in his mouth. Matt’s vision for how coffee should be
produced began to form. This vision was further defined when Matt met many master coffee roasters,
traders and growers in many different regions of the globe. Their combined
techniques and experiences led to the realization that the finest coffee
started in small lots and was roasted in small lots. Organic Karma does all of its procuring of its coffee beans, from
only the finest organically certified coffee farms in the best producing
regions of the world. We only slow roast in small 20lb and 35lb tumble roasters. Our master
roasters keep a close eye on each individual batch, one pound at a
time. Our techniques require time, patience and care, we believe you
